Baby guavas

21 April 2014

During our explorations of the garden, Edward T Bear and I found these little bright red fruit. We didn’t know what they were, so we picked one, and asked Aunty Lissi.

“Those are miniature guavas, Flat Kathy,” she explained. “They have a strongly sour and tart flavour, but they are very rich with Vitamin C. Please will you and Edward T Bear pick a couple for me?”

She didn’t have to ask us twice. Edward and I were happy to oblige. Even Mr Tiger came to help us.

And Aunty Lissi was very impressed that we had diligently filled an entire bowl.

    1. “Sybil, they *weren’t* all that appetizing, to be honest,” replies Flat Kathy. “But they are very rich in vitamin C, and because Reggie has a bit of a cold or flu at the moment, I wanted to help her feel better, so we picked a whole bowl.”

Isn’t that thoughtful of her, Sybil?
