Guess who’s home?!

Oh, my dear friends around the world, I have finally arrived in Cape Town again!

What a journey the last few months have been. I don’t quite know where to start.

I hope that my friend Reggie will help me to tell the stories of what has been happening to me since I left Paprika and Oregano in New Jersey and travelled across the vast Pacific Ocean to Australia. I spent some time in the Seychelles, in Germany and in Denmark, and I can’t wait to tell you all about that.

But for now, I am just happy to have survived another trip in the cargo hold of an unknown aircraft, which took me from Denmark in the nothern hemisphere to Cape Town, at the southern tip of Africa.

The joy on Reggie’s face, when she opened my envelope, was indescribable. It feels good to be on solid ground again.

  1. Oh my, you are certainly not looking the worse for wear Flat Kathy. Traveling in cargo holds seems to agree with you. Still the pretty girl with the cute-as-a-button nose 🙂 How you do get around!

    1. Why thank you, Amy, that is a very kind comment. But I do much prefer traveling in the cabin – the view is so much better, it is usually a far shorter trip to my destination, the food is always exciting, and one doesn’t get tossed around quite as much as in a mailbag!

  2. I’m so happy to see your bright, smiling face again, FK! I’m glad you have arrived safely back in South Africa. I know Reggie missed you very, very much. Can’t wait to hear about your adventures.

P.S. Oregano and I are traveling to Alaska this summer. You are always welcome to join us if you’re up for another long trip.

    1. Paprika!!! Oh, it is wonderful to hear from you! I LOVED my visit with you and Oregano, and Alaska sounds like the most exciting destination. I just hope it will be a little less cold in the summer, as I don’t have any warm clothes. When are you and Oregano leaving? I will ask Reggie to email you.

    1. Hello Sybil! Gosh, it is sooo nice to hear from all my friends again. I have missed you all very much.

I also don’t think I can turn down Paprika’s offer – I mean, what girl WOULDN’t want to travel to Alaska?!

  3. Welcome home Flat Kathy. Wouldn’t it be nice if you were like the TARDIS – bigger on the inside – then maybe we could join you on your fantastical journeys!
