My South African host family is going to join me in England!

I have received the most astonishing email from Reggie: They will be flying to the United Kingdom this weekend!

As you perhaps know, I am currently travelling around England with Paula and Morton, the lovely folk who just happen to be Reggie and Richard’s neighbours in Cape Town. (I am going to tell you all about our adventures together as soon as I can.)

Anyway, they are due to arrive on Sunday; once they’ve picked up their hire car, they want to drive to the city of Glastonbury for their first overnight stop. Reggie said that she wants to climb the Magical Tor, or something like that. Then, on Monday, they will be making their way towards Salisbury – which is where Paula and Morton are going to be taking me that very same day!

Sooo, we have made plans to meet each other in Salisbury! Isn’t this incredible? I can’t believe my friends from South Africa are coming all the way to the UK to meet me!

Reggie has waymarked all the points she would like to visit in the UK - perhaps a tad over-ambitious? But oh-so-exciting!

But that’s not all: Reggie also asked me whether I would like to join them on their three-week journey around England, Wales and Scotland!

What did you think I said to that?

No?

Yes?

YES!!

On a rather sad note, though, it does mean that my time in England with dear Paula and Morton is coming to an end. It has been quite marvellous, and they have really made me feel part of the family, so I will miss them very much. Thankfully, we will see each other again, when we return to Cape Town later this month. We shall have so many stories to share!

(I apologise for the over-use of the exclamation mark in this post, but, as you can imagine, I feel almost speechless with delight!)

        1. We are going to meet with Richard and Reggie tomorrow in Salisbury. Apparently, Reggie already has a route worked out, so it sounds like we will have quite an adventure!
