On Sunday, Reggie and I drove through to Noordhoek (which we had visited the day before for a delicious lunch), to have lunch with their friends, Dr Lizette, Dr Felix and Little N. The three of them had gone for a hike at Chapman’s Peak with Richard in the morning, and we had arranged to meet for lunch at the cosy little restaurant inside the Noordhoek Garden Emporium. It’s right next door to those hungry lions (remember?).
We had a wonderful time together. Dr Lizette told me that she is a real medical doctor, and Dr Felix is a very special psychiatrist who also does a bit of plastic surgery when his patients need it.
Little N was having much fun climbing up and down on the slide and playing in the sandbox and looking for an elusive black bunny rabbit that was – so she said – hopping around the woods behind the restaurant. She is sooo cute, and very chatty, although she isn’t even two years old yet!

At the end of our meal, Dr Lizette and Dr Felix invited me over to their home for a sleep-over and a visit to Little N’s Clinic. I was delighted and curious, so I said yes.
Little N graciously lent me a cute floral nightie and even allowed me to sleep in her bed. I could tell that she really likes the colour pink: the curtains were pink, the sheets were pink, the pillows were pink, and the duvet was pink! Luckily, I’m not pink, or you wouldn’t be able to see me in the photos!
Little N introduced me to some of her best friends:
There’s Apie the Monkey, and Ollie the Elephant, and Rufus the Tiger. And Mia, who is a very pretty little girl. Unfortunately, she was in quarantine at the time, because she had tonsillitis and an ear infection, and was running a fever.
Ollie had a knot in his trunk, and Rufus had somehow climbed into the washing machine – and the bleach had rinsed all the colour out of his fur!

And poor Apie the Monkey was completely misaligned – one of his arms was too short, the other was too long, and the same with his legs. Little N was so upset.
Fortunately, Dr Lizette and Dr Felix are absolute miracle workers: they healed darling Mia, operated on Ollie, straightened out Apie’s limbs, and re-coloured Rufus!
I was sorry to say goodbye to them, when Reggie fetched me from the Clinic tonight. But she promised that I would see Dr Lizette, Dr Felix and Little N again loads more times, so that is something I look forward to.
I don’t like doctors, so I’m not sure I’d have felt comfortable here.

Well, Apie, Ollie and Rufus were very afraid too; but we all snuggled together, and I told them stories, and we laughed so much, that we forgot to be afraid. Sometimes, it is good when a friend goes with us to the doctor; they can play with us and distract us, and then we forget to be afraid.

A floral nightie nonetheless! Isn’t she the lucky one?

Isn’t it too cute, Kathy? I thought she looked quite adorable in it.

It was very sweet of Little N to lend it to me. I think that Mia usually wears it at night.
